We look forward to welcoming you to PNCWA at the Oregon Convention Center. This year’s conference features a robust technical program, expansive exhibit hall with top level vendors and ample social and networking events.

Please check out the agenda at a glance, which outlines conference events and activities, including events in advance of the conference.

We have some great activities planned this year, prior to the conference beginning: Water Palooza (September ), and the Water For People Bike Ride Run (September 8). Pre-conference workshops will be held on Sunday, September 8 with the main conference scheduled from Monday, September 9 - Wednesday, September 11, starting with Opening Session on Monday at 8:30am.

Want to apply for CEUs or PDHs?

  • Pick up a CEU/PDH request sheet from the registration desk.
  • Have your CEU/PDH sheets stamped by room monitors.
  • If you attend the the Opening Session, initial and add the Keyword provided at the end of the session.
  • Turn in your stamped CEU/PDH sheets at the registration desk before you leave the conference.
  • You will receive a hard copy via mail within 45 days after the completion of the conference.

Easy Ways to Reduce Your Environmental Impact

Bring your own reusable water bottle and refill it at the event. We will have water stations around the Oregon Convention Center. Your personal water bottle will ensure waste diversion!

Reduce your personal carbon footprint by walking or taking public transportation between conference events. Portland's MAX (Metropolitan Area Transit) Yellow line stops at the convention center for ease and convenience to you the attendee!


Please use the appropriate bins onsite to ensure items are recycled and reduce the waste sent to landfills.


Reduce your water consumption by limiting your shower time and reusing your towel in your hotel room.


Time Zone: Portland, Oregon is located in the Pacific Zone (GMT -07:00)

What to Pack: Late Summer, Early Fall is an incredible time of year to be in Portland. While the average outside temperatures can be warm during the day and cooler by night, we recommend you dress in layers as temperatures inside the meeting rooms can vary.


September in Portland can arguably be the best time to visit the Rose City; however, Portland can also be marked by rain and showers.  Average temperatures range from a high of 78ºF to a low of 57ºF.  We encourage you to come prepared for sprinkles. You can view the extended weather forecast for a better prediction of the weather during the conference.

Getting there

If you are staying at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton, Portland, there is an adjacent MAX line Station from the PDX Airport for approximately $3.00 that runs approximately every 15 minutes. We encourage you to check the MAX Red Line Schedule for times. Ride Sharing programs, and Taxis are also available in Portland, Oregon. Lastly Portland is well known for their bike sharing program, called BIKEtown with several locations near the hotel and convention center, making navigating the city by bike quite approachable. 

If you plan to drive and park at the Oregon Convention Center,  convention center's underground garage. You may enter the garage through either the NE Lloyd Boulevard (P1) or NE First Avenue (P2) entrances. Clearance on the P1 Level is 7 feet; clearance on the P2 Level is 9 feet. . Parking rates increase by time after the first fifteen minutes (complimentary): 

  • $5 for 16 minutes to 1 hour
  • $7 for 1 to 2 hours
  • $9 for 2 to 3 hours
  • $10 for 3 to 4 hours
  • $12 for 4 to 18 hours (over 18 hours incurs an additional $2 per hour charge)

For the full conference program, please visit the conference website. As noted above, registration opens at 8:00AM on Sunday, September 8 in the Pre-Function D section of the first floor, with pre-conference workshops held throughout the day, the First Time Attendee and New Member Meet & Greet beginning at 4:00PM and an Operations Challenge event held during the All Attendee Meet & Greet from 5:00PM - 7:00PM.

Attention Presenters

Visit the conference website for detailed presenter instructions including the equipment available in the session rooms and what to expect at your session. Please format all presentations in 4:3 ratio for optimal display on the screen. Presentations should be saved as follows: Presentation Title_Presenter Last Name_PNCWA2019

Presentation Archiving
: All presentations will be collected by the session moderator and archived on the conference website.

The conference is pleased to offer a number of facility tours which will depart from the Convention Center. All tours are first-come, first served and CEUs are available based on actual presentation time. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Closed-toe shoes are required.
