Message from Conference Chair

Welcome to Boise, Idaho for the PNCWA2018 Annual Conference and Exhibition! The Conference Committee has been working hard to put on the same high-caliber conference you’ve come to expect and you don’t want to miss this year’s top-notch technical presentations, exciting preconference activities, and great exhibitor line-up.

For folks able to join us a few days early, we have a full slate of preconference activities planned. We begin on Thursday at Taft Elementary School with a WEF-style Waterpalooza event designed to teach students about the value of water. Saturday morning will find us with tight lines (hopefully) and full garbage bags after a morning of fishing and trash pick-up along the Boise River. Sunday morning you can support Water for People by participating in a 5k Fun Run at Julia Davis Park. The Fun Run is open to the public, so please invite your friends and family to support this great cause.

As usual, networking opportunities abound at PNCWA2018. All attendees are welcome at the Sunday Evening Meet & Greet, Monday’s off-site Networking Night, and evening receptions Monday and Tuesday on the exhibit floor. Don’t miss the Tuesday reception where we’ll feature a recycled-water Pale Ale crafted by local Mother Earth Brew Co. Events for specific groups include First Time Attendees and New Members on Sunday afternoon, Students and Young Professionals (S&YPs) on Sunday evening, and a Women’s Networking Event on Monday afternoon.

With so much to do and see, I encourage everyone to download the PNCWA2018 conference app. The app has everything you need to get the most out of conference, including a map of the Boise Centre, information on conference events, and even the ability to donate to the PNCWA scholarship fund.

Finally, I want to extend a large “thank you” to PNCWA staff, MeetGreen, the Conference Planning Committee, and all the other volunteers whose hard work makes our annual conference possible. With such great people, it’s no wonder that this event continues to amaze every year. Safe travels, and I look forward to seeing you in Boise!
